GMAT – the strange test you take for the MBA

GMAT is strange. Strange as in different from any test you have taken before. It is not a test English, math or IQ.

GMAT is a test of  GMAT as a foreign language. You learn it as you learn about a foreign country: the culture, the language, the customs. You have to know the basics but you need to give your sentences or answers the meaning that the GMAT people understand.

And the most important: you have to do that in a limited amount of TIME. Time is the only thing you can control. It is your decision how much time you give to every exercise, a decision that I took lightly. I was so focused in getting everything right that I found myself needing more time too soon. I passed the GMAT, I got admitted into the MBA, but I always thought about the fact that I could have done better.
